Description

The MLA-B (Big) are two square loops connected in series, with a side length of 2.5 m (20 meter circumference). This antenna have been testing at 1.8 and 3.5 MHz.The MLA-B needs only some 5 sq.meters of area. For this reason is this antenna is quite acceptable for use at 160 and 80 meter bands as stacionar antenna in city QTH or for lower-level expeditions. The experience from design MLA-B was used in designing smaller version of non circular magnetic loop antennas, types MLA-C, MLA-V, MLA-R. Like familiar type MLA-C, the MLA-B can operate on two bands, but only at 80 meters is a real ‘big’ one. No other commercially-produced MLA has an efficacy as MLA-B on the 80 m band. The Lambda-Match coupling is very simple solution, providing a good range of impedance variability, loss-less in practice, and allows an MLA to be located anywhere. No special instruments are needed, adjustment can be done by SWR only. Of course, for perfect adjustment is the use of the antenna analyzer is very useful. Assembling and adjustment MLA-B is same asi MLA-C, see the video.
